  1. They have gluten free mix but cook the pancakes on the same grill as all their gluten products and therefore is not safe for anyone with a gluten allergy/celiac disease.

  2. i’ve tried many of the restaurants on this list looking for the best gluten free pancakes. so far besaw’s have been the best.

    we got there at around 11:30 on sunday morning. we had about a half hour wait which was a bit less than the wait time we were quoted. in addition the staff was very friendly and there are benches and carafes of coffee, tea, cream and sugar for waiting patrons.

    the pancakes were worth the wait. they were fluffy and tasted like the real thing. i definitely recommend smothering in maple syrup.

  3. the best gf pancakes i’ve ever had – in fact i tried to send them back trying to tell them i needed the “Gluten FREE” pancakes not the GLUTEN pancakes. They assured me they were GF. My tummy agreed over the next few days. I took my small children who were mostly behaved – and they even made the mickey mouse/raindeer pancake out of the GF for my kids. Fantastic.

  4. They just started a whole gluten free menu, using Dessert Labs bread and muffins. So they now have really excellent French Toast plus their pancakes and a variety of other gluten free options.

  5. We ate at Besaws for the first time on Saturday morning -it was about a 25-minute wait, but more than worth it. You can enjoy Stumptown coffee outside at bistro tables while you wait. I had GF French toast with apple/cinnamon compote, and the GF French toast was fabulous. I shared apple sausage links and rosemary potatoes with my husband. It was a fantastic GF meal at a great neighborhood cafe with great service. I’m extremely sensitive to gluten and had no issues eating here. I can’t wait to go back!
